Ed Temple Track

Overview

Named after the legendary Coach Ed Temple, Ed Temple Track is home to the historic Tigerbelles and Flying Tigers Track & Field programs. Located on campus, there have been over 40 Olympians, multiple USA Medalists, OVC Conference Champions and National Track and Field Hall of Famers to practice and compete at this legendary track and field facility.

  • Ed Temple Track has served TSU well for over 30 years plus, but is in dire need of renovation to support the goals and vision that our student-athletes and exemplary coaching staff have for the program
  • Host home college track meets which is not currently an option
  • Enable every athlete on the roster to compete at a high level
  • Increase recruiting capabilities through hosting high school events
  • Host track and field camp events to support recruitment and revenues
  • This outstanding project will not only benefit Tennessee State's current student-athletes, but also the University and local running community on the whole.

Phase I: Facility Renovations

Phase I of the Track and Field Renovation will produce many benefits for TSU student-athletes and the program including:

  • Complete removal of the existing track surface
  • Installation of a state-of-the-art running track with additional lanes to meet NCAA standards and IAAF certification.
  • Renovations and improvements to the Track Field House and Equipment Storage Units.

These enhancements represent a significant investment in the Tennessee State Track & Field program as we work to continue its proud tradition.
